About

iHeal Clinic - Dr Mojgan Bina MoghaddamMojgan Bina Moghaddam, L.Ac., DAOM, Ph.D.

I have a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) degree from the Five Branches University where I have been teaching as an associate professor for the past 7 years.  I have been practicing Chinese Medicine for 20 years treating thousands and thousands of patients.  The sheer volume of patients I have treated in  the past 15 years working at Kaiser is probably more than the number of patients some of my colleagues treat during the entire lifetime of their practice. However I pride myself in being able to provide my patients with quality, and compassionate care.

Field of Specialty:
Aesthetic Acupuncture

iHeal Clinic - Aesthetic AcupunctureAesthetic acupuncture for facial rejuvenation used to be only reserved for the queens in ancient China.   I have two major certifications in facial rejuvenation acupuncture having treated many patients in collaboration with a dermatologist and plastic surgeon.  Acupuncture stimulates collagen production  resulting in softening deep wrinkles,  fading away superficial wrinkles, lightening dark spots, getting rid of under-eye bags, and create a natural glow on the face.  Most people will immediately be able to observe the amazing effect of acupuncture on their faces after a session.  In most cases, it will take 3 to 4 sessions of acupuncture to observe the difference in signs and symptoms, but the natural glow and other positive changes of the face are undeniably and observed subjectively immediately after acupuncture session is over.

Women’s Health

iHeal Clinic - Women’s HealthMy doctoral specialty includes the area of women’s health.  I treat a variety of women’s health issues extremely successfully, such as PMS, and any other menstrual issues including  premature cessation and irregular menses, menopausal disorders, such as hot flashes, insomnia, weight gain, and anxiety.

Acupuncture and herbs are effective alternatives to hormone replacement therapy providing  natural relief without the side effects of chemical hormones.

Chinese medicine can effectively treat various fertility issues, even helping IVF procedures to have successful outcomes.

Pain

iHeal Clinic - PainDr. Bina has treated all kinds of pain very successfully while working at Kaiser Permanente for the past 15 years.  Her treatments effectively treat even those people who have had acupuncture in the past without obtaining any relief. What sets her apart is the fact that she treats you not only for the pain, but also addresses the underlying constitutional issues which cause the pain. Some of the painful conditions she treats are musculoskeletal pains such as low back, neck, shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, acute injuries due to falls, playing sports, abdominal pain due to IBS, and colitis, and other digestive ailments, tension headaches, migraines, and any other painful condition.

Chinese Medicine Mentorship

iHeal Clinic - Chinese Medicine MentorshipWhen I first started studying Chinese Medicine more than 25 years ago, there were hardly any resources available in English language.  I was however fortunate enough to seek medical treatment from Dr.  Miriam Lee, who later became my mentor. Through this mentorship, I started on a path of learning which is continuing and has been nourished by not only different teachers, programs, books, and seminars, but also having taught courses as part of the degree program at the Five Branches, and continuing education courses for the past several years.

My students have been my teachers as they were the ones who continuously have asked me to share my experience through continuing education courses that are beyond normal curriculum of a degree program in most of the Chinese Medicine schools.

Western Medicine

iHeal Clinic - Western MedicineHaving worked at Kaiser for the past 15 years, I have had the opportunity to be able to work with patients who seek acupuncture after obtaining a western medicine diagnosis. Therefore, I have been able to connect the outcome of a Chinese medicine treatment to a specific western medicine.
